The album “Ewa Demarczyk śpiewa piosenki Zygmunta Koniecznego” (SACD Hybrid) by Ewa Demarczyk in the series “Polskie Nagrania Catalogue Selections”. This is the first edition of this album in the SACD (Super Audio Compact Disc) format. The choice of this format is a nod to audiophiles.

The album “Ewa Demarczyk śpiewa piosenki Zygmunta Koniecznego” (Ewa Demarczyk Sings Songs of Zygmunt Konieczny) was released in 1967. It contains famous compositions already performed many times on Polish and foreign stages at that time, all of which are a testimony to the artist’s artistry and the composer’s talent. The album sold more than one hundred thousand copies and to this day remains an unsurpassed model and monument to the literary song.

Ewa Demarczyk’s debut album is an extraordinary, total work, affecting on many levels and is incredibly intense. It has become a legend, a monument to the Polish song with poetic lyrics. But above all, it is a document of an extraordinary, almost metaphysical understanding between the singer and the pianist and composer Zygmunt Konieczny. Thanks to her powerful expression and excellent diction, combined with perfectionism and attention to the smallest detail, Ewa Demarczyk elevated Konieczny’s songs to a higher level. It is also one of the most important works of the Crakow circle associated with “Piwnica pod Baranami” (Cellar under the Rams).

This edition includes three additional recordings from the artist’s 1963 debut EP.
