In the series “25 Greatest Hits”, a musical project that aims to remind you of the most popular and best selling authors, performers and songs, a significant place is occupied by Crvena Jabuka (Red Apple).

Crvena Jabuka, one of the most popular Yugoslavian bands, was founded in 1985 by Dražen Ričl and Zlatko Arslanović in Sarajevo, joined by Dražen Žerić, Aljoša Buha and Darko Jelčić.

They released their first album entitled “Crvena Jabuka” (Red Apple) in 1986, which included the hits “Bježi kišo s prozora” (Rain, run away from the window), “Dirlija” (Dirlija) and “S tvojih usana” (From Your Lips). To date, they have released a total of nineteen albums, and the latest “Mirišu jabuke” (Smelling Apples) has been released a few months ago.

The new Crvena Jabuka double LP contains 25 hits like “Zovu nas ulice” (The streets Are Calling Us), “Tamo gdje ljubav počinje” (Where Love Begins), “Nekako s proljeća” (Somehow from Spring), “Za sve ove godine” (For All these Years), which to all generations like to listen until today. There are only few performers who can boast of so many albums and such a big opus of songs as Crvena Jabuka.

Although they were already in the beginning struck by the tragic deaths of Dražen Ričl and Aljoša Buha in a car accident, the remaining members led by Dražen “Žero” Žerić always had the same way and a goal, to work out records as a whole. They also chose associates thinking in the same direction, one that is very close to the sound of the 80s, which is why they created songs that can be listened up to now, but also in the future.

Emotion as the main thread of guiding principle in their creativity is the one that binds them to the audience for forty years. And it is precisely this great anniversary, Crvena Jabuka will mark together with their many fans. The celebratory tour is going to start from Sarajevo, and the LP “25 Greatest Hits” is a great reminder of the great career of one of the most popular groups in the Yugoslavian region.
