During the past few years, the singer-songwriter Elma Burnić presented her author’s work through the songs “Leptirić” (Butterfly), “Poklone u boji grlim” (I Hug Gifts in Colors), “Svjetluca mirno more”, (Shimmering Peaceful Sea) and others. Now she has announced her first solo album. Although of different genres, all the songs on this album carry the same message and maintain the cantautor’s attitude towards life and the planet we have been living on.

At the presentation of the album at the Croatia Records Studio the mMusic critic Hrvoje Horvat had only words of praise: “Elma is a top-notch-talented singer who not only owns great singing but also author’s talent. I have been following her from the very beginning in the Filmmusic Orchestra, and this album shows that she has a project that has her foundation and roof. What used to do the great Jadranka Stojaković, this is what Elma, very polite, civilized and with cheerfulness, is doing this today.”

Elma sang the songs “Tu sam” (Here I Am),”Dvije osobe” (Two Persons) and “Zemlja” (Earth) in front of a gathered multitude of friends and colleagues, with Admir Ćulumarević on guitar and Zvonimir Domazet on bas.

“It is wonderful to work with Elma, demanding in the most positive sense and inspiring, because Elma is in the good part of her artistic habitus one walking inspirational volcano. It has been a pleasure to monitor the whole process of the formation of this album from the inside and the outside and today we are happy to introduce it,” Admir added.

Elma is a versatile artist. As a graduate architect, she was engaged in the graphic and multimedia interior design, and for the booklet of the CD edition as well as for the LP cover she painted several watercolor pictures, one for each song.

“The Album “Zemlja” (Earth) is the first part of the three-part plan. The second will be the “Knjiga zemlja” (The Book of the Earth) that I have already started writing. I asked myself why some visions of the future are dystopian? How would it look like, if all worked on themselves and their awareness? I am happy that my album has been released and I hope the audience will be found in my reflections,” Elma Burnić said at the end.
