Warner Music Poland Release Information

A limited edition of Czesław Niemen & Akwarele’s legendary first album from 1967 released on transparent vinyl in the Color Limited series.

“Dziwny jest ten świat…” (Strange Is this World...) has been, without any exaggeration, the most important album not only in Czesław Niemen’s career, but in the history of Polish rock in general. It is on this album that its author became a creative individuality and no one has ever sounded like this before in Poland.

It was the title song from this album that resounded on 23 June 1967 during the Opole Festival. Niemen preceded it with the words: “Ladies and gentlemen, I would still like to correct that the band Akwarele is accompanying. And I would like to ask the engineer to amplify the microphone some more. I will be mixing myself”. The whole of Poland then heard history happen. In 1968, “Dziwny jest ten świat…” was honoured with the first gold record in the history of the Polish phonography.
