Croatia Records Release Information

From today, the double LP “Music Pub – Live @ Lisinski” is on sale, which contains recordings from the concert promotion of Zlatko Turkalj’s celebratory edition of the Music Pub show, whose thirty-year cross-section was released on the triple LP “Music Pub – 30 godina” (Music Pub – 30 Years) at the end of 2022. The concert was held in December, on the Vatroslav Lisinski Hall Day, in the small hall, and an excellent video program was recorded, which had its television premiere on HRT last week.

It was also the most beautiful celebration of the 30th birthday, and the big celebration was embellished with their performances by the biggest stars of domestic music who passed through Zlatko “Turki” Turkalj’s “Music Pub” such as Vanna, Mladen Bodalec & Fedor Boić, Boris Novković, Tina Vukov, J.R. August, Nele, Tina Kresnik, Noa Rupčić, Antonela Doko, Mateo Pilata and Luce. The musicians were accompanied by top musicians gathered under the leadership of the guitarist and arranger Zvonimir Radišić.

All the mentioned singers can be heard on this double album, for which mix and master are signed by Mauro Širol, who, along with Zvonimir Radišić, is also responsible for the production of the release. In addition to the program from the concert, “Music Pub – Live @ Lisinski” also contains two bonus songs, recorded as a part of the cult show, and it is a joint performance of the song “Mojoj majci” (To My Mother) by Jasenko Houra, Mladen Bodalec, Marija Huljeva and the group Protokool, while side D closes with a great guitar performance by Marijan Brkić of the big hit of Parni Valjak, “Dođi”.

The second program of Croatian Radio has been graced by one of the most famous music shows in Croatia for thirty years. On the occasion of the big celebration, the legendary music lover and editor of the show, Zlatko Turkalj, first last year, in cooperation with Croatia Records, published a triple vinyl edition 'Music pub - 30 years', which included only the best and most important songs of artists and bands which marked the period of existence of the famous show. To round off the celebration period, we crowned the thirtieth birthday with this live edition from the small hall of Vatroslav Lisinski, which on that December evening was the meeting place of generations of talented musicians and music lovers who recognized Zlatko’s talent.

The numerous awards he has earned through his many years of work have proven that Zlatko Turkalj has been one of the most influential music editors in our area. He was awarded with the Crystal Microphone Porin, the special award “Status”, and most recently awarded for his contribution and promotion of cultural musical values for the book “Žene u glazbi, stihu i interpretaciji” (Women in Music, Verse and Interpretation) (2022) and with the award of the Croatian Radio Television for the radio documentary series “Žene u glazbenoj industriji” (Women in the Music Industry), both in 2022.

His contemporaries often have talked about how important his contribution through the show Music Pub has been, but it is worth saying that with his dedication, Zlatko has become synonymous with quality music in Croatia and a role model for the generations who are already learning and those who will learn from his work in future.
