Silvije Glojnarić, one of our most prominent drummers, composers, arrangers and conductors, presents his new album “Rockjazzroll – A Little Look back on tomorrow”.

Maestro Glojnarić signed this album of big band music as composer and arranger, and he entrusted the performance to the fantastic KK Jazz Orchestra from Krško under the baton of Aleš Suša. The performances are enriched by numerous top soloists: Vojkan Jocić, Jakob Avsenak, Urban Levičar, Miha Koretič, Davor Križić, Lara Senica and Aleš Suša.

On his sixth studio album, maestro Glojnarić offers listeners his contemporary vision of jazz fusion – the synergy of jazz, rock and various ethnic influences – which is the original heritage of the 70s of the last century.

In the compositions originally composed for big band, instead of just being arranged for it, the maestro uses lush harmonies and catchy melodies alongside rock-influenced rhythms, all refined by sophisticated orchestration and counterpoint figures – states jazz guitarist, composer and arranger Zvonimir Tot, who signs the album’s liner notes.

The album “Rockjazzroll” serves us Silvije Glojnarić’s rich experience as a classically trained composer. He built his fruitful and diverse musical career as a drummer, composer, arranger and conductor in numerous eminent musical ensembles. Although his musical oeuvre encompasses a range of different styles such as jazz, contemporary classical music, film music, musicals and popular music, maestro Glojnarić primarily composes for big band in a modern jazz style that stems from swing, which is a significant part of his extensive musical oeuvre.

Silvije Glojnarić emphasizes: “In all my compositions, I strive to transcend the boundaries of the present and offer a musical view of the future. ” And this is what he tells us with the motto of his new album.
