Croatia Records has enriched its “25 Greatest Hits” edition with a new double album by Kemal Monteno, one of the most beloved singer-songwriters in Yugoslavia.

The double album is a retrospective that covers more than four decades of Kemal’s brilliant career, bringing timeless songs that have marked generations. Emotive lyrics, a recognizable voice and an unsurpassed sense of melody have woven Monteno deeply into the collective musical memory of the Yugoslavian region.

The album includes indispensable classics such as “Sarajevo, ljubavi moja” (Sarajevo, My Love), a song that became the unofficial anthem of his hometown, then “Nije htjela” (She Didn’t Want to), “Jedne noći u decembru” (One Night in December), and the touching ballad “Vraćam se” (I’m Coming back).

The compilation is also adorned with duets with numerous greats of Yugoslavian music, including Tereza Kesovija, Gabi Novak, Oliver Dragojević, Arsen Dedić, Boris Novković, Crvena Jabuka, Danijela Martinović and Goran Karan. Each song on this release carries a story – about love, friendship, memories and time that passes, but continues to live on through music.

“25 Greatest Hits”, edited by Želimir Babogredac and Zlatko Turkalj, is an edition that brings listeners an emotional journey through the opus of authors, singers and groups whose music has become the soundtrack of many Yugoslavian generations.
