The greatest hits of the music diva Doris Dragović from Split have finally been compiled in an impressive edition – 25 Greatest Hits on LP format, from unforgettable ballads to energetic pop hits that the audience still sings today.

This vinyl release brings a cross-section of the career of one of the most beloved domestic singers, whose voice and charisma have captivated audiences for decades. Hits such as “Marija Magdalena” (Mary Magdalene), “To” (That), “Jedini” (The only One), “Željo moja” (My Desire), “Dajem ti srce” (I Give You My Heart), as well as the duets “Baklje Ivanjske” (St. John’s Torches), “Sudnji dan” (Judgement Day), “Što je od mene ostalo” (What Is Left of Me) and “Da te nema” (That You Are not here) are indispensable when it comes to a discographic overview of Doris Dragović’s career.

“All my duets are completely different stories, for example, I wanted to have the artistic touch of Prljavo Kazalište (Dirty Theatre). They were the epitome of my youth and that time. When we received confirmation that Mladen Bodalec would record the duet “Baklje Ivanjske” (St. John’s Torches) with me, and Prljavo Kazalište would participate with some ideas and solos, it was a dream coming true. And what can I say about Mišo Kovač, with whom I sang “Da te nema” (That You Are not here), they are all greats for me. On the other hand, I was also happy when my skinny long-haired Petar Grašo sang the duet “Što je od mene ostalo” (What Is Left of Me),” Doris revealed in an interview with the radio host Zlatko Turkalj, which is featured on the album cover.

Being among the most popular singers for more than forty years is not easy, and what is the key to Doris Dragović’s success?

“At all times, I am aware that I cannot achieve something with the person listening to me, if I do not know the way and do not have a method that I have learned. That is how I run away from the story of emotions, because they do not need to be expressed in words, they do not need to be told. I hold firmly to that miracle that God, I guess, works with all our instruments, and the voice is one of them. In this way, he touches human souls and creates certain moods that then lift us up and bring us down. We laugh or cry because of them,” added Doris.

Doris recently delighted fans with her new single “Sluge tuge” (Servants of Sorrow), which also announces a long-awaited album with completely new original songs, the first of its kind after a 16-year recording hiatus.
