Indies Records Release Information
Fermáta celebrated 50 years of existence last year. In five decades, its main protagonist, the guitarist and musician František “Fero” Griglák has released twelve unique albums. The first seven, between 1975 and 1984, were made in close collaboration with the keyboard player Tomáš Berka, co-founder of the group. Perhaps the best known and most successful album was “Huascaran” (1977), one of a series of conceptual works by Fermáta.
The 1991 album Simile... (Similiar...), which has been rereleased after many years, was the imaginary beginning of the next stage of the group’s existence, which has lasted, so to speak, until today. Fero Griglák revived the band after a creative hiatus of several years, surrounded himself with young musicians and framed a new musical direction of his ideal ideas with his rock-edged guitar. Alongside the strong instrumentals “Dr. Gamow” and “Hrdzovlasá” (Rust Haired), the legendary “Spomienka na Amsterdam” (Remembrance of Amsterdam), one of its author’s landmark songs, stands out in particular.
