The new album “London Sessions” by the Macedonian guitar virtuoso Vlatko Stefanovski is now available on triple LP and double CD.

Studio 3 is one of the three original spaces of the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London. Some of the world's most important and exciting artists created and recorded there, from Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Fela Kuti, Lady Gaga and Amy Winehouse to Frank Ocean, Bruno Mars, James Blake, Florence + The Machine, Nile Rodgers, Due Lipa, Liam Gallagher and many others. Vlatko Stefanovski has joined this respectable list of Studio 3.

In the year in which Stefanovski celebrates 50 years of his career, Croatia Records organized a multi-day recording of his new album in the famous London studios. The album, which will be released on vinyl and CD, will be called “Vlatko Stefanovski Trio: London Sessions”.

Along with Vlatko Stefanovski on vocals and guitars, the drums were played by one of the most promising young drummers in the Yugoslavian region, Vlatko’s son Jan Stefanovski, and the electric double bass was superbly played by Tihomir Hojsak. The role of the sound engineer at Abbey Road Studio 3 was taken over by Goran Martinac, with the assistants Ed Farrell and Leah Morris. Martinac also signed the production at the Croatia Records studio. Additional keyboards on the album were played by Damir Imeri and Goran Martinac, while the lacquer cut of the LPs was done at the Abbey Road Studios by Sean Magee, winner of the Grammy Award for the Beatles’ “Mono Box Set”.

The atmosphere of Studio 3, where some of the most important albums by world music greats were created, such as Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side of the Moon”, particularly inspired Vlatko and his trio to deliver and record a superb performance. The chemistry between the musicians is felt in each of the 23 recorded songs. The selection of the songs for the album “London Sessions” represents a cross-section of Vlatko’s career – both from Leb i Sol (Bread and Salt) and solos works – through which he built the status of one of the most important Yugoslavian musicians and a guitar virtuoso whose work has long since become a must-read for every young guitarist.

The audience has already had the opportunity to hear the previously released singles that announced this album. Among them, the covers of George Harrison’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”, “Čukni vo drvo” (Knock on Wood), “Gipsy Song” and the cover of the Macedonian folk song “Makedonsko devojče” (Macedonian Girl) stand out.

After the successful recording of the album, the London adventure was crowned with a sold-out exclusive concert in another legendary venue – the Dingwalls club in London’s Camden.
