Balkan Zoo & Nina Ćorić recycle for you!

With their first joint single “Geljan dade”, (Geljan Said) Balkan Zoo & Nina Ćorić announce their new album “Recycle”, which will be available for sale next week.

And in the same week, they will also hold a promotion for the album, at the Tvornica Kulture, as part of the spring edition of Jazz.hr concerts.

“Geljan dade” opens a new Balkan Zoo stage in which, as the name of the new album suggests, “Recycle” brings traditional Roma songs recycled into a progressive world music sound thanks to top musicians, arrangements and the vocal soloist, Nina Ćorić. The lyrics and music of the recycled single were written by Šaban Bajramović, the arrangement, as for the entire album, was taken care of by Mario Rašić, while the video was created by Doringo.

Balkan Zoo is a band led by bassist and composer Mario Rašić, who has been promoting Balkan music in new, modern arrangements for ten years. On the new album “Recycle”, composed of popular Roma songs tinged with jazz, hip hop and electronic flamenco, he is joined by the flamenco singer Nina Ćorić. With this project, the artists want to point out prejudices, but also the richness of the Roma cultural heritage, and contribute to positive changes in society through music. Through their interpretation of Roma music, their goal is to build some new bridges of understanding, friendship and coexistence.
