The cult album “Novi Sing Chopin” by Novi Singers was a major artistic event many years ago. Novi Singers’ approach to Chopin’s music, which is so “sensitive” to any arrangements and transcriptions, was met with widespread approval and was received with enthusiasm by many listeners. For many years, Novi were among the top three vocal ensembles in the world in the Down Beat magazine’s rankings, and they took first place in 1978.

As Novi wrote on the cover: “Chopin means music. Chopin means Poland. We wanted to sing Chopin in order to identify with his music, to find something of ourselves in it; to find a fragment of our own truth in the great truth of Chopin’s music. If we have succeeded in doing so, even in part, we will be happy.”

The album cover by Rafał Olbiński is also remarkable.
