Polish Jazz Vol. 86
A limited edition of the album “Slow Food” by ZK Collaboration, released on transparent vinyl, which appeared in the Polish Jazz series under number 86.
This is the band’s debut in the Polish Jazz series. Adam Zagórski and Maciej Kądziela, co-leaders of ZK Collaboration, have created an album that is not mainstream, and the multitude of inspirations and influences absorbed and processed by each of the musicians in an organic way is surprising.
Every now and then, a band appears on the jazz scene and turns it upside down. It breaks out of the framework defining jazz and makes you say, “Wow! That’s the power of ZK Collaboration.” The band’s album, Slow Food, is like a sophisticated and carefully prepared dish in which funk, fusion, punk and rock ’n’ roll are combined with improvisation to create an extraordinary whole.
ZK Collaboration is a group of friends. Some of them sat together in school, studied together, travelled together, created music together, always drawing on their youthful energy and the extraordinary interaction they developed over the years. They set themselves the challenge of putting an end to musical fast food and prepared an extremely polished album, which they worked on for almost two years.
They say about themselves and their music: “Our goal is to break down barriers, search for new solutions and constantly develop, without forgetting that music is fun and our absolute love. If you do something you believe in, rely on it and trust yourself in what you do, then it simply has to be good and it has to be it! That’s our music!”
