A limited, colourful reissue of Ossian’s debut album, released in 1975 by Polskie Nagrania. The recording was made during a concert at the PWSM in Warsaw in April 1975. The album was recorded by the original line-up, which had been playing together since the band’s inception in 1971: Jacek Ostaszewski, Marek Jackowski (two members of the band Anawa) and Tomasz Hołuj, who was also responsible for the literary and visual aspects of the band’s concerts.

Ossian, later Osjan, played intuitive, mainly instrumental music, with influences from ethnic music in both the melody and the instruments used. The jazz-folk improvisations played by Jacek Ostaszewski and Marek Jackowski had their origins in their collaboration with Marek Grechuta and Jan Kanty Pawluśkiewicz during the recording of the album “Korowód” (Procession). The rhythm and the silence between sounds occupy a central place in the band’s music.

From the very beginning, the musicians have used instruments from various cultures around the world, including recorders, dholak, tabla, gongs, bongos, xylophone and many others. Today, Osjan is considered a pioneer of world music in Poland. After recording the album, Marek Jackowski left the band.
