Luxury instrumental rock finally available again

In 1992, three outstanding musicians came together in the studio to delight all fans of artfully crafted rock with twelve new recordings. Led by guitarist (and here also sole composer) Michal Pavlíček, they were able to build on their rich previous experience from, for example, Pražský Výběr, Stromboli, ETC..., Krausberry and many other top projects. Pavlíček, bassist Jiří Veselý and drummer Jiří Zelenka got a chance to push the purely instrumental content of the album into the category of trio virtuosity.

The cover artwork with motifs by the famous artist Pavel Brázda hides rock with many ingredients, sometimes hinted at by the names of compositions like “Pipe of Jazzy Metal”. The trio, in which musical sovereignty meets a sense of humour, is photographed in the booklet in costumes of a native, Celtic and oriental appearance, which fits well with some of the sources of inspiration. As a display of sovereign instrumentality with the gift of quick listener contact, the Big Heads are probably unrivalled in this country to this day.

The bonus CD, bringing together 13 concert recordings from 2001 with an album of largely overlapping repertoire, is a proof.
