At the request of Václav Havel, the Plastic People gathered in their “basic line-up” at Prague Castle to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Charter 77. After 13 years, they played a full line-up for the same faces, only in a bigger barn, in the Spanish Hall. This unique concert was obtained from two sources, one from the sound mixer and then from the camera that filmed the whole party. And there was a lot to film, excerpts from it can be found on the Plastic People DVD we released in 2020.

The “bonus” is a five-song set that the band – already augmented by Joe Karafiát’s guitar – played live on WFMU New Jersey Radio 91.1 Mhz FM during their first US tour.

Continuing the series of images on the title page, for this one we’ve selected a painting by Pavel Zajíček (who will perform the band’s opus “Pokus o odehnání démonů z těchto míst” (Attempt to Banish Demons from these Places) at the Castle), the 24-page booklet features rare photos of Tomki Němec, Tomáš Hradilek and Petr Prokeš from the concert, and photographer Jan Mihalíček has loaned us never-published photos of the band in rehearsal before they left for the US. The release is equipped with English translations.
