Kalemegdan Disk Release Information

The songs included on the album are mainly from the previously released studio albums of the Puhdys. Thus, three songs from the debut album “Die Puhdys” from 1974 are included. Three tracks were also previously released on “Das Buch” (1984). Two tracks each appeared on the albums “Heiß wie Schnee” and “Schattenreiter”. The records “Sturmvogel”, “Perlenfischer”, “Die großen Erfolge”, “10 wilde Jahre”, “Neue Helden”, “Wie ein Engel” and “Frei wie die Geier” are each represented by one song. In addition, the song “Hey, wir woll'n die Eisbärn sehn” comes from the single “Bye, bye ... H’arryvederci”. The album also includes two previously unreleased songs, “Königin” and “Süden”.

Various music producers were involved in the production of the songs selected for the compilation. Seven of the twenty songs were produced by Bernd Wendlandt in collaboration with Ingo Politz. Helmar Federowski and Karl-Heinz Ocasek also produced seven titles (three of them with Volkmar Andrä). Two productions are by André Kuntze, while Helmuth Rüssmann, Rainer Oleak as well as Thomas Brück are responsible for one track each. The song “Kleiner Planet” was produced by Puhdys members Dieter Birr and Peter Meyer themselves.

The album cover states that in addition to the two previously unreleased songs, eight hits have been newly produced. This applies to all the songs produced by Bernd Wendlandt / Ingo Politz and Rainer Oleak as well as “Lebenszeit” produced by André Kuntze and also “Alt wie ein Baum ’99” produced by Helmuth Rüssmann and released as a single.
