Kalemegdan Disk Release Information

In 1971 Gábor Presser, József Laux and Anna Adamis who wrote the lyrics left the band to form Locomotiv GT. Omega seemed to be doomed having lost their creative center (main composer and their lyricist), but in defiance of this fate all remaining members of Omega began to write new songs. In 1972 Omega recorded the album “200 évvel az utolsó háború után” (“200 Years after the Last War”), but it got censored soon after.

One problem was the title of the album that didn’t match with the ideas of the Hungarian government, another problem was a producer of Hungaroton who regarded himself offended by the track “Szex apó” (“Sex Uncle”). No sooner than 1998 was the original version of the album available in this digital remastered CD edition: A splendid hardrock production with some progressive elements, a bit similar to Deep Purple with Ian Gillan and in much better sound quality than the “Élő Omega” album which was released instead. In 1974 an English version of “200 évvel az utolsó háború után” was released by Bellaphon in Western Germany.
