The last album in Breakout’s discography. “Żagiel ziemi” (The Sail of the Earth) was created as a part of a rock triptych (along with albums by Budka Suflera and Skaldowie), commissioned for the Olympic Games in Moscow (1980).

Although the project was primarily intended to be a major commercial venture, Tadeusz Nalepa remained true to his artistic convictions. As he recalled, when attempts were made to impose on him that “Olympic music should be cheerful”, he preferred to “write blues” because he composed as he felt.

It is this fidelity to his musical convictions that is the greatest strength of the album today. The result is extremely diverse material – from the powerful hard rock riff in “Maraton” (Marathon), through the classic blues rock “Ile Olimpiad” (How Many Olympics), to the guest appearance of Roman “Pazur” Wojciechowski in “Historia dysku” (History of the Discus). The unusual culmination of the band’s career and a unique “sound photograph of time”.
