Warner Music Poland Release Information

The album “Mrowisko” (SACD Hybrid) by Dżamble in a limited edition, in the series “Polskie Nagrania Catalogue Selections”. This is the first edition of this album in the SACD (Super Audio Compact Disc) format. The choice of this format is a nod to audiophiles.

“Mrowisko” (The Anthill) by the band Klan (Clan) was a project that was intended to be a ballet-beat show, but became one of the most important pages in the history of Polish rock of all time. Originally released in 1971, “Mrowisko” is the culmination of two years of Klan activity. It’s an explosion of psychedelic landscapes from empty frames, the power of solemn songs and an energy that still strikes after half a century.

Formed in 1969, Klan was a band that proved that a song did not have to have a simple stanza-refrain arrangement, and the lyrics did not have to be about love. Inspired by the achievements of Vanilla Fudge, the US American giants of psychedelia, as well as soul groups such as Blood, Sweat and Tears, in 1970 they prepared an elaborate, almost hour-long form to a script by Marek Lewandowski and lyrics by Marek Skolarski. “Mrowisko” proved – despite the small number of performances – to be a success and a real sensation.

The potential inherent in the work of Marek Ałaszewski and Klan is confirmed by the album version, recorded in March 1971 and later released on vinyl – it still stands up to this day with its colourful, polished set of songs, in which Vanilla Fudge inspirations mix with Afro rock percussion passages, and the bluesy “Nerwy miast” (Nerves of the Cities) clashes with the anxiety-laden “Tańcem czterech” (Dance of Four).

The album comes with four bonus recordings that were originally on their EP from 1970: “Gdzie jest człowiek” (Where the Man Is), “Z brzytwą na poziomki” (With a Razor for Strawberries”, “Nie sadźcie rajskich jabłoni” (Don’t Plant Apple Trees of Paradise), and “Automaty” (Automats).
